The self-checkout machine was set up in 2016, the first one in Keelung. The machine is printed with the artwork of Li Chin Hsien, a renowned local painter in Keelung, at Qidu Station in the early days. The machine is a combination of arts and technology. It is blended with local elements and becomes more localized.

The machine primarily allows users to check out selected books, check out the books reserved, drop the books and look up the checkout record. Besides extending the library service, the machine is integrated with technology for the public to experience the convenience of technology and the library service that keeps up with the times.
