Introduction: The children’s room is on the second floor of the Keelung Cultural Center. A children’s section (including the beginner reading section and happy family book section), newspaper section, magazine section, new book section and DVD section. An activity section for holding activities and storytelling is available.
Event:
I. Storytelling by volunteer: Each Saturday from two to three pm, a story teller we trained will take turns to tell stories.
II. Listening to stories: On the first Sunday from three to four pm, our senior volunteers take turns to tell stories. Their stories are based on fairy tales and they change stories creatively. Their stories are popular among children.
III. Happy family book event: Every third Sunday from two to four pm, we guide parents to read a book from the family education section, tell a picture book to children about guide reading, and guide parents and kids to make a craft together.
IV. Storytelling of picture books in English: Every fourth Sunday from two to three pm, a storytelling event will be held. A story teller will tell a story, play with children and children can sing and dance along. Children can learn English while listening to the story and enter the world of the story in English.
V. Starting from 2019, parents will receive the gift bag for baby when they register their child’s residence at the household registration office and apply for the first library card for their child.
